Teddy Bear Xenia by Steiff, made exclusively for Teddy Bears of Witney, Oxfordshire, UK years 2001 and 2002. Limited edition of 1500 pieces. This is number 01202. EAN 660467.

Beautiful Xenia is made of finest light blond mohair, which has been specially woven and dyed to resemble the colour of a beautiful vintage Steiff Teddy bear on display at Teddy Bears of Witney. She is softly stuffed by hand with fine shavings so that she feels, as well as looks, like an old Teddy bear. She has a light brown hand-stitched nose, brown glass eyes with black pupils, and she knows how to growl (and likes to very much indeed!) Xenia measures 43 cm / 17″.

Teddy bear Xenia is inspired by Princess Xenia, to whom the precious Alfonzo Teddy Bear was given in 1908, by her father, Grand Duke George Michailovich of Russia.

Teddy bear Xenia wears a silk bow similar in colour to Alfonzo’s clothes, and this is decorated with a gold-framed portrait, lavishly plated with 24 carat gold, on porcelain, of the original Steiff Alfonzo Teddy Bear. She is presented in a custom-made green box, and has the numbered white ear tag, fixed by a gold-plated “Button in Ear”. Xenia comes in excellent condition with all tags, certificate and original green Teddy Bears of Witney box. Xenia has been living in a non-smoking environment, and is now looking for a new loving home.
