Sweet Rhonda – Portobello Bear Company – Amy Goodrich – OOAK – Year 2004

Sweet Rhonda was born in 2004 as a OOAK teddy bear for the British retailer Just Bears. Handmade by Amy Goodrich / Portobello Bear Company. Rhonda has all her tags and insewn labels still attached. The PBCO paper tag is signed by Amy.

Sweet Rhonda is made of a beautiful short brown (with a tiny nuance of grey and plum – according to my eye!) mohair with black air-brushed details, and filled with wooden shavings. Black shoe-button eyes and black embroidered nose (“Portobello Bear-style”). She has cross-stitched flowers/patterns embroidered to all her pads. Rhonda is wearing a lovely antique embroidered silk dress in pale old rose, with a petticoat underneath. She has a stunning bonnet in the same colour with a huge white feather and flowers, most certainly created by Amy Goodrich. Sweet Rhonda also has a growler.

Sweet Rhonda is such a sweet teddy bear. She measures approx. 41 cm / 17 inches. She comes in perfect condition. She has had only one previous owner, a grown up collector, and has been living in a non-smoking environment.

Every Portobello Bear is a masterpiece. This pretty lady is now looking for a new loving home.
