Muzzle Teddy bear 1908, Replica 1990, by Steiff was made as a limited edition of 6000 pieces in 1990–1991. This is number 02534. EAN 406126 (0174/35).

This particular Muzzle bear has a stunningly beautiful face. He has a shiny coat of finest white mohair plush, big black button eyes and an embroidered nose and claws in apricot/brown. He is stuffed with “excelsior” wood shavings and measures 35 cm / 13″. He has a riveted muzzle made of genuine leather, but he doesn’t like to wear it, so he keeps it in his box (just saying… 😉 ).

As early as 1907, the Steiff factory in Giengen produced, among other toys, more than 974 000 teddy bears. Two bears with muzzle dating from these early years achieved a record price at an auction at Sotheby’s, London, in May 1987 and were produced by Margarete Steiff GmbH as a limited edition in 1988 and 1989. The popularity in these bears among collectors increased and a couple of years later Steiff presented this addition.

Muzzle bear comes in perfect condition with all tags and certificate. He comes in his original box. The box’s cellofan lid is slightly damaged in one end and the box has a little hole on one side. Muzzle bear has been living in a non-smoking environment, and is now looking for a new loving home!
