White Alpaca Teddy Bear made by German manufacturer Steiff as an exclusive annual Steiff Club membership gift in a limited edition year 2008. This gorgeous little teddy bear measures 10 cm / 4″ and is made of finest creamy white alpaca, with hand-stitched gold-coloured details. Button-in-Ear trademark and white/red tag in ear. EAN 420832.

Just like the exclusive Club Editions, the annual gifts have been an essential part of the programme of the Steiff Club ever since it was formed. In the first Club years, the gifts were a silver brooch, tin miniatures or a porcelain plate with a Steiff motif. In 1997 the idea of presenting mohair items as the annual gift was born. The series of 7 cm tall mohair Teddy bears in various colours was then followed by the hanging polar bear in 2006 and the hanging elephant in 2007. The 2008 Club year again presented a little Teddy bear, but he is very different from his predecessors in material, size and design. This Teddy bear is made from alpaca, a precious and very soft material. In the Inca Empire, alpaca was worth its weight in gold, so the Steiff designers were inspired to have this little Teddy bear’s nose and claws hand-stitched in a gold-coloured yarn. The Teddy bear is fully jointed, wears the Club pendant and a gold-plated button with a red-and-white ear tag. The exclusive annual Club gift is limited to the 2008 Club year and not available in retail outlets.

This little Alpaca bear comes in perfect condition with box, tags and certificate. He has been living in a non-smoking environment and is now looking for a new loving home.
