Description
Philibert is the Swiss Post teddy bear. He sports a natty, washable postman’s summer outfit and is made of soft cuddly plush in a greyish brown colour. He has black button eyes and a black stitched nose and claws, and he measures approximately 37 cm / 14″. Philibert was made by Heunec, Germany for the Swiss post in 2002 in order to celebrate the centenary of the teddy bear.
On May 15th 2002, a stamp booklet with two sets of fie self-adhesive 90 centime stamps on the subject of the teddy bear centenary was issued. The event was celebrated at the Dolls House Museum in Basel.
Philibert comes in excellent condition with his little certificate booklet. He has been living in a non-smoking environment in a private collection and is now looking for a new loving home.
This could be a perfect curiosity addition to both a teddy bear collection as well as a philately collection!
